Kubrick’s genius was that he was a man more concerned with the creation of a film and asking questions of the audience than he ever was of attempting to answer them. He himself admitted that it is not the filmmaker’s job as an artist to solve the world’s problems, but merely identify them, and be sensitive towards them, stating that the purpose of art and how we, as an audience, perceive so-called “good art” is entirely up for interpretation. This film is merely one puzzle-piece, a question waiting to be answered.
